Alpine Loop

A spectacular loop walk starting at the Springs, half way up the mountain. Walk through eucalyptus forest, past boulder fields and find yourself at an abandoned ice house ruin. Continue uphill and cross an alpine boulder field before arriving at the pinnacle. Enjoy a well deserved break before descending down the spectacular Zig Zag track alongside the amazing dolerite cliffs of the Organ Pipes. This walk has it all – forest, history, views and awesome geology!

Mountain Gems

This tour is a series of short leisurely walks, taking in the beautiful Silver Falls, the mighty Octopus Tree, the fascinating stories of the Springs and finishing with epic views from the pinnacle. A great collection of some of kunanyi’s gems.

In Darwin's Footsteps

This tour is part of National Science Week in collaboration with Beaker Street @TMAG.

Imagine retracing the footsteps of Charles Darwin’s climb of kunanyi / Mt Wellington. The walk will celebrate the rich natural sciences of the mountain and visit the sites of numerous ground breaking discoveries.

Sea to Summit

Challenge yourself to this full day iconic walk. Dip your toe in the Derwent River and finish at the pinnacle of kunanyi / Mt Wellington 1271 meters above sea level. The trails will follow in Charles Darwin’s footsteps, taking in the full range of natural and cultural wonders that hide among the mountain slopes. Not one for the faint of heart – epic, challenging, but oh what a great achievement.
