We begin with a stop at the famous Fern Tree area where we walk to the spectacular Silver Falls. We talk about the water story of Hobart here and show you the ruins of where the old tram used to bring up visitors in the 1800s.
We return to our vehicle continue up the mountain where we stop and walk to the Octopus Tree – a high Eucalyptus tree with a plethora of roots that have grown over a large boulder, a famous site to see on kunanyi. We continue on to the Springs at 700m where we relax and enjoy a hot refreshment and snack. When its sunny we can sit amongst the trees and soak up enjoy nature, or in adverse weather there is a hut with a roaring fire to enjoy. Either is excellent.
We jump back in the vehicle and continue on up to the summit of kunanyi / Mt Wellington where we can take in the sights of Hobart and beyond for many miles.
Why not visit Salamanca markets on Saturday morning and then come for a Walk on kunanyi in the afternoon to enjoy some of her gems.
There are many viewing platforms at the summit capturing all the best vantage points.
